Inspired by the town of Brattleboro, the unique sour ale captures the best of local flavors. Brattlebeer is slightly tart, light bodied and dry with both fruity and malty undertones, and a rocky, champagne-like head. Fermented spontaneously with a blend of local apple cider, malt, and hops, this delicate pale ale pairs well with soft cheeses and herbal entrees, and often compliments seasonal fruit desserts.

Our Green Street Sour IPA is the sour take on the beloved hop-centric beer Vermont is known for. We focus on a balance of hop and malt flavors with a citric tang from a few days of kettle souring. It’s not the jolt to your taste buds that our Flemish Sour Brown provides, but it certainly has a powerful, tart presence to support its hoppiness. We use 100% locally sourced hops from our neighbors at Four Star Farms for their truly excellent aroma and flavor. Are you ready for a new approach to an old style?

Our Tribute Double IPA is a celebration of hops, pure and simple. A simple and smooth malt base serves as the stage for the hops to perform. Tribute has a beautiful golden color, an aroma brimming with citrusy hops, and a deliciously smooth hop flavor and dry finish.

A_Dog Ale

DJ Andy “A-Dog” Williams was a musical force in VT. His positive attitude, talents behind the turntables, and welcoming smile will keep his legacy alive forever. Our A_Dog Ale is a smooth brown ale brewed in tribute to Andy in collaboration with the Friends For A-Dog Foundation.

Valor Ale

Our Valor Ale is a hoppy amber ale with refreshing hop aroma and taste. A portion of the proceeds support the Purple Hearts Reunited Foundation, returning medals of valor to the servicemen and women who earned them.

In keeping with my Pépère Ferland’s tradition of craftsmanship we brewed our Maple Breakfast Stout with 100% pure Vermont Maple Syrup, local St. Albans Honey, and coffee. We hope you enjoy this dark and delicious beer.

Going Away Event For Oliver at Hen of The Wood – You’re Invited!

Saying goodbye to Oliver.

After 4 years… we sadly but so proudly are saying farewell to Oliver.
He is off to Boston to pursue his career in Health Care!
We know so many of you have made connections through the Bevie with him so if you want to clink glasses with him and wish him well, he will be at Hen of the Wood in Burlington on Tuesday June 23rd starting at 7:00PM.

Man…. it has been a great 4 years our friend… it’s time to take on a new path as long as the side ones lead you back to visiting us.
