FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you carry Hill Farmstead?

Unfortunately, Hill Farmstead ceased bottle and can distribution outside of the Northeast Kingdom after the spring of 2020. We have, very occasionally, featured a few cans of their offerings as part of our annual Hops 4 Hunger drive, but as a general rule, they are not available in a retail setting. You can find their beers on tap at a number of local bars and restaurants(feel free to ask us for some recommendations), but for beers to take home with you, your best bet is going to be making a visit up to the brewery in Greensboro Bend.

Can I mix and match single beers from your selection?

Yes! While we prefer you don’t break open a closed cardboard package to do so, we love for our customers to have the opportunity to try as many different brews as they can get their hands on, and we want to help you do just that. There is an approximate 15%-20% up-charge on singles to help us cover damages, inventory shrink, and labor costs related to selling brews that way, but you’re more than welcome to mix it up as you like.

Do you sell Liquor?

Yes! The Bevie is attached to an 802 Spirits retail outlet where you can find Vermont’s largest selection of spirits.

Do you have any Blanton’s, Buffalo Trace, or other allocated whiskeys?

Occasionally. High-end whiskey allocations are tightly controlled by the DLC, so our allotments are typically very small. Most weeks, we receive our liquor deliveries on Thursday morning, and any allocated items that we receive will be immediately posted to our Facebook and Instagram pages before going out for sale. Be sure to keep an eye on those!

Why do I have to purchase my liquor separately from my beer/wine/other stuff?

Like other spirits retailers in Vermont, our liquor store is an 802 Spirits outlet, meaning that while our staff maintains the store and its inventory, all of its product and transactions are owned and overseen by the Vermont Department of Liquor Control, while all other transactions are part of our family-owned shop. While some liquor retailers choose to keep those transactions at the same location, running the separated transactions on side-by-side registers, we, as the state’s highest volume beverage retailer, have found that keeping the transactions at separate counters allows for faster overall transaction times, shorter lines, and reduced foot traffic congestion in our store. We understand it can be a little confusing at first, but we appreciate your patience in helping us make the purchase process as quick and easy as possible for everyone.

If I don’t see what I’m looking for in your store selection, can you special order it for me?

That depends. If it is a beer, wine, cider, mead, or non-alcoholic beverage that is available through our distributors in the state of Vermont, then yes. We’re always happy to check if a product is available for us to order for you. Give us a call or e-mail and leave your name, phone number, product name, and quantity you’d like to order, and we’ll be in touch as soon as we check its availability. If it is a liquor, the DLC has an entirely different special order process, that you can see through here: https://802spirits.com/special-orders

Do you have a card minimum for purchases?

There is a $0.25 charge for card purchases under $10 that are made on the Beverage Warehouse side of the shop. The liquor store has no card minimum.

Do you sell gift cards?

Absolutely. You can stop in to purchase one during our in-store shopping hours, or you can call us Monday-Saturday, 10AM-5PM, to purchase one remotely that we’ll be happy to hold for pickup at a later date.

Do you offer curbside service?

We do indeed. We ask that all curbside orders be placed, either via phone or e-mail, by 2PM on the day of pickup, and be picked up by 4PM to keep our staff safe and your wait times down.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us via phone or e-mail, and we’d be happy to assist in whatever ways we can!
